Kim O’Neil

Next Level Facilitator

Kim O’Neil

Kim O’Neil has 22 years of experience leading technology teams and businesses with an educational background in computer science and international business. Kim started her career at HP leading large-scale software projects and most recently, led the operations and people functions as the COO of Encompass Technologies, Inc. She is now in an Investor/Advisor role as an owner and board member at both Encompass and BDC (Beverage Distribution Consultants).

Encompass is a successful software as a services (Saas) company providing ERP, logistics, payments, and business management solutions to the beverage industry. Kim has spent the bulk of her career thus far helping Encompass grow from a startup in her husband’s basement to a global company with over 500 employees, fostering a strong and vibrant culture, and building an amazing portfolio of customers spanning the entire beverage supply chain from manufacturers, to distributors, to retailers.

In 2022, Encompass attracted a 2nd round of private equity investment, allowing Kim the opportunity to take a leap from the day-to-day operations into early retirement. This is allowing Kim to refocus on her passion for helping companies through early growth stages. She is happy to be doing this through board seats, advising, coaching, and being a LoCo Facilitator! She enjoys spending her time reading, writing, traveling, attending concerts, and hanging out with her three kids.

My Facilitator Strengths

Compassion: I am a human-focused leader and believe that the first step in solving problems and getting work done is to understand the goals, motivations, challenges and strengths that individuals bring with them to their work. Then you can find ways to leverage those strengths and build strong teams.

Analytical Problem Solving: I love solving problems, looking at situations from different perspectives and working with others to find creative solutions.

Project Mindset: Once you’ve arrived at the concept of the solution, the next step is to plan the project and move toward achieving the desired result. I believe a project mindset can help provide structure and clarity to many business challenges that might not initially look like “projects”.

Collaboration: Rarely can a business goal be achieved through unilateral effort. Creating, building and nurturing strong teams with high levels of trust, transparency and collaboration, in my experience, leads to better results and more fulfilling work.
